IMPORTANT FACTS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
When using this bait, fish a location no more than 20-30 minutes, then move to
another likely spot. If you haven't had a bite in this timeframe, there are not
any catchable fish in that area or there are only very small ones that will only
nibble and not take the bait and worm.
1.How much weight and/or what kind of sinker should I use and how do I rig it?
ANSWER: Whether fishing a pond or a strong current, never use
any more weight than it takes to get the bait and lure to the bottom. Catfish
will drop a lure and bait because it is over-weighted and does not feel natural.
Use a snap swivel to attach to the loop end of the lure. Never tie the line directly
to the lure as it weakens the line. I like to use a walking, sliding sinker (sometimes
called a Lindy or Walleye sinker) in front of the snap swivel. Not only do the
fish not feel the weight, but if you do get snagged, the sinker and lure will
come out of the snag much more easily. Also always make sure that your leader
line is the heavier weight line-not the line on your reel.
2.How do I bait the W-D-3 worm?
ANSWER: First dunk the worm in the water and then squeeze it out (this will make it more absorbent when first used).
Then using an old spatula, knife, or stick, etc., push the W-D-3 worm down into the bait: work it around and then scrape the excess off the outside, leaving a thin coat on the outside like you would do if you were spreading peanut butter on bread.
Then dip the worm into the water to set the bait. No need to gob my bait onto the outside of the worm as you do with the other types of catfish worms and sponges.
The W-D-3 worm absorbs the bait and holds it in so it ends up where you want it, in the worm slowly dispensing out the scent to lure Old Mr. Whiskers in.
P.S.
The W-D-3 bait is much thinner than other dip baits. It has to be in order to be absorbed into the worm. Once you touch your baited worm to the water, it sets the bait onto and into the worm. Then you are ready to cast out and start catching cats.
3.Will the W-D-3 worm work with other baits?
ANSWER: Yes, but it presents two problems. One, it does away with the floating properties of the worm, and two, it will not stay in or cling to the worm nearly as well, as they are not compatible or made to work together. That is precisely why I developed the system.
4.How long will the W-D-3 worm last?
ANSWER: With proper handling and care I have caught up to fifty catfish without replacing the worm. You could average 20-30 before you need to replace it. The worm slides up the line to make removing the hook a lot easier and then slides back down onto the hook to rebait, thus enhancing the life of the worm. In fact, the W-D-3 worm will outlast other types of catfish worms if you follow my simple directions. To further enhance the floating capabilities and life of the worm you may periodically wash the worm out with a non-sented soap or detergent. Thoughly air dry before storing.
5.How do I store the W-D-3 Catfish Bait and what is the shelf life?
ANSWER: Store it anywhere. It never needs to be refrigerated.
It can be stored outside, in the barn, garage, shed, boat, wherever. (Ask your
wife before you store it in the house. Ha ha ) The W-D-3 bait won't freeze or
melt. You never have to add anything to it to thin it or to thicken it. The shelf
life is indefinite. It is truly BAIT FOR ALL SEASONS.
WHEN YOU PURCHASE THE W-D-3 BAIT THERE WILL BE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOTTOM OR SIDE OF THE CONTAINER ON HOW TO USE THE BAIT WITH THE W-D-3 WORM.
No questions that you ask will be ridiculous or ignored. After all, if you are not catching fish I am not selling my system.
